Frequently Asked Questions

If your question is not answered here, open a ticket at the helpdesk — see “How do I get support?” below.

Is TitanCart a WooCommerce alternative?

Yes. TitanCart is a from-scratch commerce engine for WordPress that replaces WooCommerce rather than extending it. The two keep their data in separate tables and share no products, orders or customers. They can be active together during a migration, but a store runs one or the other.

Is there a free version, or a free trial?

There is a free version. TitanCart Lite is published on WordPress.org, free and GPL, with no license key and no time limit — download it here. It is the same engine as Pro, not a demo: catalogue with variations, cart and guest checkout, orders and fulfilment, customers, reviews, wishlists, full tax rules, table-based shipping with zones, SEO, GDPR tools, CSV import and export with the WooCommerce migration tool, and Stripe plus cash on delivery, bank transfer and cheque. See TitanCart Lite.

TitanCart Pro adds the rest — PayPal, Venmo, Square and Authorize.net, live carrier rates, product options and bundles, promotions and coupons, gift cards, Loyalty Rewards, Email Campaigns, returns, Revenue Reports, the REST API, social sign-in — and the nine bundled extensions. Because Pro is the same plugin with those pieces switched on, moving up from Lite does not mean rebuilding your store. There is no public demo store; Lite is how you try TitanCart.

Why an annual subscription instead of a one-time purchase?

Keeping a commerce plugin current with Stripe, PayPal and the other gateways, with WordPress core, PHP releases and tax changes is continuous work; the annual fee funds it. If you stop paying, your store does not go dark: it reverts to TitanCart Lite and keeps selling, the Pro-only features and bundled extensions switch off, and nothing is deleted. Renewing restores everything with your settings as you left them.

Can I use TitanCart on more than one site?

Pro is licensed per site: the Starter plan covers one site, Business up to five and Agency up to twenty-five (current prices at titancart.io). Activating the key on a site takes one seat; removing it on that site, or releasing the site from My Account → Licenses on the marketplace, gives the seat back. See Activating a license key.

Can I migrate from WooCommerce?

Yes. Open TitanCart → Settings → WooCommerce Migration on the site where WooCommerce’s data still lives. It imports categories, tags, products (including variable products), customers, orders, reviews and coupons in one run, skips anything already imported if you run it again, and leaves WooCommerce untouched. Shipping, tax, payment gateways and other settings are set up fresh afterwards. See Migrating from WooCommerce.

Do I have to use the TitanCart theme?

No. Prism, the free companion theme, is the quickest way to a polished storefront, but TitanCart’s templates render inside any theme that loads the WordPress header and footer, you can place store pages with shortcodes, and you can override individual templates from your theme. See Connecting the TitanCart theme.

Which payment gateways are included?

Lite: Stripe, plus cash on delivery, bank transfer and cheque. Pro adds PayPal, Venmo, Square and Authorize.net. TitanCart adds no transaction fees of its own; you pay each gateway’s published rates. See Payment gateways overview.

How large a catalogue can TitanCart handle?

TitanCart stores products, orders and customers in its own dedicated tables, queried directly, instead of WordPress posts and post meta. Catalogue queries therefore do not slow down the way post-meta-based stores do as the catalogue grows; the practical ceiling is your hosting, not the plugin.

Does TitanCart support multiple currencies?

A store has one primary currency, set under Settings → Currencies: prices are entered in it and checkout charges in it. You can define further currencies with their formatting and exchange rate for reference, but the storefront does not convert prices or let shoppers switch currency in this release.

What happens when my TitanCart license expires?

The store reverts to TitanCart Lite and keeps running; see “Why an annual subscription” above. Separately purchased extensions such as TitanCart Lottery are one-time purchases and their keys do not expire.

Is TitanCart GDPR compliant?

Compliance is a property of how you run your store; TitanCart gives you the tools. The built-in GDPR Compliance extension provides a cookie consent banner, a required consent checkbox at checkout, customer self-service Download my data (a JSON export of their profile, addresses, orders and wishlist) and Delete My Account, which erases personal data at once and anonymises the details on past orders after a retention hold while keeping the financial record. Deleting a customer from the admin anonymises them the same way. See GDPR & cookie consent.

Can I run raffles or giveaways?

Yes, with the TitanCart Lottery extension, sold separately on the marketplace and working on Lite and Pro: basket raffles, 50/50 pots and free-entry sweepstakes with ticket bundles, audited replayable draws, winner e-mails and one-click refunds when a raffle does not run. See Setting up TitanCart Lottery. Local law decides whether and how you may run one.

How do I get support?

Submit a ticket at help.titancart.io/helpdesk/; you need a free account, created at help.titancart.io/account/. Include the exact error text, your WordPress and PHP versions, the steps to reproduce and, for anything visual, a screenshot or recording. The Business and Agency plans include priority support.

Do you offer refunds?

A purchase is refundable only while the software has not been downloaded. As soon as any file for that order has been downloaded, the order is no longer refund-eligible. You are told this on the download page itself, before you click — downloading starts your access to the software and waives refund eligibility. For a TitanCart Pro subscription this includes the extensions covered by your subscription: downloading any of them starts your access in the same way.

We can take that position because you never have to buy anything to try TitanCart. TitanCart Lite is free on WordPress.org and runs a real, sellable store — so you can evaluate the software properly, on your own site, for as long as you like before you pay anything. Install Lite, use it in earnest, and upgrade to Pro only once you know it fits. If something is not working the way you expect, contact support before anything else — we would far rather fix the problem than have you stuck with software that is not doing its job. Where a refund is not available, store credit or an exchange may be offered at our discretion.

How do I import products from a CSV?

Go to TitanCart → Settings → Import / Export, pick Products as the entity type and choose your CSV. A mapping step lists each CSV Column with a Map To dropdown and sample data, so your headers do not have to match TitanCart’s names. Pick an Import Strategy (import all, update existing only, or create new only), tick Perform test import for a dry run, then run it; recent imports are listed below. The same page handles categories, orders, reviews, customers and waitlists, and exports to CSV. On Pro you can save the mapping as an Import Preset for next time.

Can I customise an e-mail template?

Yes, in the admin: Settings → Notifications lists every customer and administrator e-mail; open one, edit the subject and body with the available placeholders, and click Save Template. Developers who need different markup can copy a template from the plugin’s templates/emails/ folder into your-theme/titancart/emails/; the theme copy is used first.
