Setting up Wishlist+

Wishlist+ upgrades TitanCart’s built-in wishlist into a full save-for-later and re-engagement tool. Shoppers can keep multiple named lists, share them with friends, build a gift registry, and get an email when a saved item drops in price or comes back in stock. This guide takes about ten minutes.

1. Activate and enable the extension

  1. Go to TitanCart → Extensions → Installed Extensions and enter your Wishlist+ license key to activate it.
  2. Open the Wishlist+ settings and switch the master Enabled toggle on.

Note: the Enabled toggle stays locked until a valid license is active — that’s expected. Activate your license first, then enable. Wishlist+ enhances the wishlist your store already has, so once enabled the upgraded behaviour appears automatically.

2. Choose which wishlist features to offer

In the Wishlist+ settings, turn the features you want on or off:

  • Guest lists — let shoppers save items before they log in (their list carries over when they create an account).
  • Multiple named lists — allow more than one list per shopper, such as “Birthday” and “Someday.”
  • Gift registry — let a shopper mark a list as a registry to share for an occasion.

3. Set up price & stock alerts

Alerts email shoppers about items on their lists so they come back to buy:

  • Price-drop alerts — on by default; emails a shopper when a saved item’s price falls.
  • Back-in-stock alerts — on by default; emails a shopper when a saved out-of-stock item returns.
  • Low-stock warnings — off by default (noisier); warns when a saved item is running low, using the low-stock threshold you set.
  • Deal alerts — off by default; personalized promotional nudges.

A notification throttle sets the minimum hours between repeat alerts for the same item, so shoppers aren’t over-emailed.

Note: alerts depend on your store being able to send transactional email. Back-in-stock and price-drop emails use the extension’s own templates.

4. Configure sharing

Wishlist+ lets shoppers share a list by link or to social networks. The available share options include Facebook, X / Twitter, Pinterest, email, and a direct copy-link. When someone opens a shared link, they see a public, read-only view of that list.

Note: shared lists are served on a public page through the wishlist shortcode, which the extension sets up for you automatically when it’s activated — a shared link looks like your wishlist page with a ?tc_wishlist= code on the end. You don’t need to create that page by hand.

5. Test the shopper experience

  1. On a product page, add an item to a wishlist, and (if multiple lists are on) create a second named list.
  2. Open the wishlist, use a share option, and confirm the shared link opens a read-only view.
  3. To test alerts, save an out-of-stock item, then restock it — the back-in-stock email should send (subject to the throttle window).

Troubleshooting

  • The Enabled toggle won’t switch on — activate your license first under TitanCart → Extensions → Installed Extensions.
  • The upgraded wishlist features don’t appear — confirm the extension is enabled; Wishlist+ enhances the existing wishlist, so the master toggle must be on.
  • Guests can’t save items — turn on guest lists.
  • Alerts aren’t arriving — confirm the specific alert type is enabled, your store can send transactional email, and the throttle window hasn’t suppressed a repeat send.
  • A shared link shows nothing — the list may be empty or the share link incomplete; re-copy the share link from the wishlist.
